The COVID-19 pandemic has extremely affected many lives, especially the vulnerable sector suffering from health and livelihood. People lost a loved one and lost a job.
However, this pandemic also opened the eyes of people to be more generous, loving, and kind towards each other. Many opportunities sprung, discoveries, communities united to help and donate to different organizations.
It is also a testimony that blessing is abundant in this world through generous donors and sponsors who tirelessly support organizations like Good Neighbors Philippines. These are some of their stories:
Gloria Uson
I donate because I want to help those children in their unfortunate situations to have a better future. And my motivation is to spread love and charity to young people.
Through donating, I become more optimistic in life. I become socially aware, especially in the welfare of the children.
I encourage everyone to donate to Good Neighbors Philippines, so that we can help more children to change their lives and to help them fulfill their dreams. Be a blessing to others!

I donate because I have hope for the children, for the younger generation. I was once a sponsored child and a beneficiary of a sponsorship program. This motivated me to do the same because I know how it felt to be in their shoes.
Moreover, it opened my mind that the Lord is sufficient and faithful with His provision. Sponsors are not always rich or with extra, but they just have enough. What they have more is hope and confidence for these children and their better future.
It is not just a matter of donation but a matter of the heart. From one heart to another, I hope we bring hope and dreams together with the sponsored children beyond what was given.

I decided to donate and sponsor a child because I wanted to help. I am glad that Good Neighbors started its initiative for local sponsorship. Filipinos are known for their Bayanihan spirit, so why can’t we helped one another, especially the children. Knowing that a small amount can help a child go to school and have a better future is already one of my motivations to continue supporting her.
Thus, sharing is caring. God helped me get a good and stable job, and in return, I am sharing what I have. While my son is growing up, I wanted to slowly inculcate to him the importance of giving and sharing, how it makes a difference, and the happiness it brings to oneself. God provided us the opportunity to help, big or small it does not matter as long as it came from the heart.
I wanted to share this quote from Denzel Washington – “ At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished. It is about what you’ve done with those accomplishments. It’s about whom you’ve lifted, whom you’ve made better. It’s about what you’ve given back”.

I choose Good Neighbors for my charity because, as a Field Staff, I have seen how good the programs and services are to the people, such as the sponsorship and community development.
I do believe that it is better to give than to receive. I am not rich, rather, I am a blessed person. So, whatever I have right now, as long as I can, I want to share it with others, especially the most in need. I want to become a blessing to them as well.
At a young age, I was not very confident. I thought that I was so miserable because of the things I did not have. But, when I realized there was a worse situation than mine, I cannot help but thank God for the life he has given me.
No matter where you are in life and no matter how big or small your charity is, your donations will make a difference in other people’s lives.

I am donating to Good Neighbors Philippines because I know someone out there needs my help. This is not just a charitable act, a personal satisfaction, or fulfillment, but believing that my gift through donations can make a big difference. I also believe in the mission of the organization.
At first, I was hesitant to be a donor but, as time went by, I never realized that the small act of kindness slowly contributed to making a difference in a child’s life. It changed my perspective because giving makes a habit to me already, even just small things, as long as I have something to give.
We do not live in a perfect world, and there is no perfect time to give, but there will be people out there in need of our help. I believe that we make a life by what we give. So, let us all be an agent of change by giving and showing others our love and care for them. The power of our collective action can save and uplift the lives of many.

I donate to Good Neighbors because I believe that I can extend my helping hands and share my blessings with others and to my sponsored child.
What I am and what I have right now is because of the people who helped me when I was young and still in search of my purpose in the lives of others in the community. This motivated me to donate and help others. One of my aspirations is to making a change and leaving an impact on the life of others through helping them, even in little ways.
Donating is something that gives me fulfillment and genuine happiness. It is one of my ways of glorifying and honoring God’s will. I always believe that we will be blessed by God if we continue doing good and be a blessing and inspiration to others.
Just continue believing that God is the source of our everyday blessing inside your heart and be a channel of blessing, most especially the children in every community.

In 2015, Good Neighbors PHL Inc. or GN PHL, the fundraising arm of Good Neighbors International Philippines, was established to start the initiative of introducing local sponsorship and fundraising.
This strategy sprung because the organization believes that the Philippines society can help fellow Filipinos, especially the children and youth. A few years after, the organization set up its first local project area in Sitio Bakal, Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.
These stories of our donors, who are also working as an employee of the organization, have been living the heart of being a Good Neighbor. The Good Neighbors is very thankful for all our employee donors and to all our long-time donors and sponsors.
Good Neighbors Philippines continues its work for the children and youth. For your donations, visit our donate page.
