On January 24, the global community celebrates the International Day of Education under the theme “AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation.” This year’s theme highlights the importance of education in empowering individuals to navigate a rapidly evolving technological landscape while ensuring that human creativity, empathy, and agency remain at the forefront.

At Good Neighbors Philippines, we believe that education is more than a fundamental right—it’s a catalyst for sustainable development, equality, and community empowerment. In line with this, we are proud to announce The Good Library, our latest initiative designed to address educational challenges in the digital age.

The Good Library aims to equip teachers, parents, and learners with modern resources, including digital tools and training programs. By integrating innovative educational apps like Duolingo and ReadWorks, we provide tools that foster creativity and critical thinking, ensuring learners are prepared for the complexities of the digital age.

Our recent engagement with Tingloy teachers highlighted the importance of community collaboration in enhancing education. Together, we explored opportunities to improve learning experiences and integrate digital resources effectively. These efforts underscore our commitment to creating an educational environment where every child can thrive, regardless of their circumstances.

Let us embrace technology while preserving the human connections that make education meaningful. As Malala Yousafzai said, “One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.” Let’s work together to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and shape the future.

About Good Neighbors Philippines

Empowering People and Transforming Communities

Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian aid and development NGO established in South Korea in 1991 with a vision of fostering a world without hunger, where people live together in harmony. Good Neighbors respects the human rights of our neighbors enduring poverty, disasters, and oppression and strives to empower them toward self-reliance and restoration of hope.

Operating in nearly 200 communities across 50 countries, our organization profoundly emphasizes supporting marginalized individuals, with a special focus on children. It prioritizes vulnerable communities for resilient and sustainable development. We achieve this through dedicated humanitarian aid efforts and community-driven development initiatives.

Guided by the aspirations of Good Neighbors, Good Neighbors Philippines was founded in 2008 to support the most vulnerable children and communities, particularly those devastated by poverty and natural disasters. Over time, our focus has expanded to provide ongoing humanitarian aid and development support, emphasizing community-driven engagement in child protection and education, youth empowerment, health, disaster risk reduction, economic development, and climate change adaptation. The commitment of Good Neighbors Philippines remains steadfast in fostering resilient and sustainable communities in the Philippines.
