The TEACH (Together Engaging Active Collaboration for Helping children read and learn) Project, led by Good Neighbors Philippines under the Prieto Diaz Capacity Development Project (PD CDP), is making a significant impact in Prieto Diaz. With two primary objectives, the project seeks to: 1) improve digital literacy among young learners; and 2) empower parents and guardians with the skills and knowledge to support their children’s literacy development at home.

This initiative brings together families, schools, and the community to bridge literacy gaps and create sustainable educational opportunities.

A Holistic Approach to Learning

The TEACH Project focuses on three key components:

  1. Equipping the Digital Library in the Children Learn and Play (CLAP) Building
  2. Parental Training (Project LOTUS)
  3. Community Engagement and Stakeholder Collaboration

This comprehensive approach ensures that both students and their families are well-supported, fostering a collaborative learning environment that benefits the entire community.

Impact and Future Plans

The TEACH Project’s impact extends beyond individual families. By integrating advanced educational technology and parental training, the initiative has strengthened community ties and collaboration.

As we go further in our mission, the third component—Community Engagement and Stakeholder Collaboration—will focus on:

A Community United for Education

The TEACH Project represents a transformative shift in the way education is delivered and supported in the community. The completion of the digital library and the successful implementation of the LOTUS 3.0 parental training program are critical steps toward fostering a digitally literate generation and empowering parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s academic success. By bringing more Good Neighbors together—local schools, universities, government agencies, and NGOs—we will create a robust support system for education, one that will continue to benefit children and families for years to come. With ongoing monitoring, community engagement, and strategic expansion, the TEACH Project is poised to make a lasting impact on education in the region.
