In the CDP of Guiuan, 40 participants who are members of various student clubs from Tubabao National High School participated in the three-day Child-Led Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) activity. The concept of DRR, the thematic aspects of disaster prevention, and mitigation, as well as the basics of contingency planning, were discussed through a partnership with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRO). Students were also educated about first aid and emergency basic life support, and their last day was alotted for drill demonstration and simulation to showcase the participants’ learnings. This shows how important the participation of the children in building disaster resiliency in the community.
On December 20, 2024, Good Neighbors Philippines officially launched its Digital Library at the Children Learn and Play (CLAP) Building in Prieto Diaz Central School. This initiative marked a significant step in making modern educational tools accessible to students in the municipality. The digital equipment, handed over to the Department of Education (DepED), included three 13-inch Apple iPads (16th Gen), three Apple Pencil Pros, an ASUS notebook, and a Kiwi Technologies 32-inch interactive, movable digital display.
