From September 4 to 6, 2024 – Good Neighbors Philippines  through Prieto Diaz Community Development Project (CDP) in Sorsogon successfully held its School Supplies Distribution. Through this initiative we were able to provide supplementary educational materials for 919 sponsored children across the 23 barangays in the municipality.

This year’s distribution included string bags, comfortable t-shirts to serve as school uniforms, and automatic umbrellas—each chosen to meet the needs of the children. The string bags are dedicated to help students carry their materials with ease, the t-shirts aim to foster a sense of belonging within their schools, and the umbrellas offer essential protection against various weather conditions as they travel to and from school.

This annual activity reflects our commitment to empowering children and youth by ensuring they have access to the tools they need for a more fruitful learning experience. We strongly believe that education is not just a right; it is the key to unlocking a brighter future, and we are here to make that possible.

Through education, we can create a future where every child is equipped to succeed and make good change happen in their families and communities.

Empowering People and Transforming Communities

About Good Neighbors Philippines

Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian aid and development NGO established in South Korea in 1991 with a vision of fostering a world without hunger, where people live together in harmony. Good Neighbors respects the human rights of our neighbors enduring poverty, disasters, and oppression and strives to empower them toward self-reliance and restoration of hope.

Operating in nearly 200 communities across 50 countries, our organization profoundly emphasizes supporting marginalized individuals, with a special focus on children. It prioritizes vulnerable communities for resilient and sustainable development. We achieve this through dedicated humanitarian aid efforts and community-driven development initiatives.

Guided by the aspirations of Good Neighbors, Good Neighbors Philippines was founded in 2008 to support the most vulnerable children and communities, particularly those devastated by poverty and natural disasters. Over time, Good Neighbors Philippines’ focus has expanded to provide ongoing humanitarian aid and development support, emphasizing community-driven engagement in child protection and education, youth empowerment, health, disaster risk reduction, economic development, and climate change adaptation. The commitment of Good Neighbors Philippines remains steadfast in fostering resilient and sustainable communities in the Philippines.
