Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) play crucial role in this time of health crisis. As such, we commend all their efforts as part of the health warriors in stopping the spread of coronavirus. At the grassroots level, they are included in the first line of defense and they are the link of the community people to the health providers and facilities.
In the Good Neighbors International Philippines (GNIP) Community Development Project (CDP) Areas in San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal; Hagonoy, Bulacan; and Tingloy, Batangas, BHWs have shown their bravery and dedication in the fight against the epidemic. They have been continuously conducting health care services through a day-to-day household visits, reporting for duty in their assigned checkpoint areas, and health advocates.
Significantly, in San Isidro Field Office, Janet Martisano, a BHW, and Community Sponsorship Facilitator (CSF) for sponsored children, volunteers to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19. She is also a member of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT). She has been contributing a lot in monitoring the individuals who have been in contact with the Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) and Persons Under Investigation (PUIs). Ms. Martisano exudes a positive disposition in life and she values her work so much.
We salute all the BHWs in our country who are performing heroic roles during the present health crisis! The next few days will be critical for everyone, may all of us be safe and healthy!
Just like our BHWs, we can help our fellow Filipinos through simple acts of kindness. Share with us and comment below how you have shown goodness and heroic deeds to our families, neighbors or communities in this health crisis. Let’s spread goodness today! ?
