Sponsored children were given another opportunity this year to express their gratitude to their sponsors through the Annual Child Letter (ACL) project of Good Neighbors International Philippines (GNIP) which happened among the organization’s Community Development Projects (CDP) and the neighboring communities around the country throughout the month of May 2018.
The major activity of the Sponsorship Program aims to build a good rapport and lasting bonds between the sponsors and the children they are sponsoring. The children were given the opportunity to express their thankfulness to their respective sponsors by writing a letter for them. It also provided direct links between them that can result in emotional appreciation and satisfaction for each other.
During the conduct of the event, there was an orientation to familiarize the children with what they were about to do, to know the objectives of the project, and to answer their questions. Although some issues were encountered along the way, the presence and assistance of the facilitators, staff, and parents resulted in a successful event. Those who were not able to participate in the activity were asked to reschedule their input upon the agreed dates.
On December 20, 2024, Good Neighbors Philippines officially launched its Digital Library at the Children Learn and Play (CLAP) Building in Prieto Diaz Central School. This initiative marked a significant step in making modern educational tools accessible to students in the municipality. The digital equipment, handed over to the Department of Education (DepED), included three 13-inch Apple iPads (16th Gen), three Apple Pencil Pros, an ASUS notebook, and a Kiwi Technologies 32-inch interactive, movable digital display.
