A turnover ceremony of the Shared Service Facility Project initiated by the Department of Trade and Industry in partnership with Good Neighbors International Philippines (GNIP) was held on September 19, 2021, at Prieto Diaz Negosyo Center.
It was turned over to the 15 food processors in Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon, under the stewardship of GNIP and Prieto Diaz Producers Cooperative (PDPC), an organized coop of GNIP in Prieto Diaz CDP, as the co-operators and partners of the project. This project intended to improve the productivity and quality of the processed products in the Municipality.
The facility accommodated various food processing equipment and tools, such as a high-speed grinding machine, foot-type impulse sealer, commercial double-deck gas bakery oven, stand mixer, stainless table, showcase chiller, fully automatic noodle making machine, and other auxiliary items.
Moreover, orientation was conducted to the target beneficiaries for the custodianship of the said tools and machinery. The DTI Negosyo Center Coordinator, Ms. Camille Ditan, briefly discusses how this project started and its objectives.
“We thank DTI-Sorsogon for showing support to the local producers of Prieto Diaz through the provided equipment that will allow them to compete and recognize in the larger market,” said Ms. Maidy May Anuma-Duran, Income Generation, Energy, and DRR staff of GNIP.
The PDPC General Manager, Ms. Rhea Escalante-Uy, also expressed their gratitude to DTI and GNIP for the continued support and guidance for the betterment of their livelihood and quality of life.
Furthermore, GNIP will be in close coordination with the Department of Trade Industry and Prieto Diaz Producers Cooperative in co-assisting in the management and operation of the SSF and monitoring and evaluation of the project.
