2022 December (Updated) – Good Neighbors International Philippines (GNIP) launched the first-ever WAVE TALK event, a locally unique gathering that unchains mind-blowing conversation, innovativeness, and inspiration, with the theme for this year “Empower through Social Responsibility”.

WAVE stands for Words Amplifying the Virtue of Empowerment. Its goal is to spark conversation, wave connection, and empower the youth through talks with a wide range of subjects in science and technology, agriculture and entrepreneurship, and climate change.

This year, the first-ever WAVE TALK was held on October 29, 2022, at Seda Hotel, Vertis North joined and supported by youth participants, partner organizations and government institutions, and sponsors, despite the weather condition due to Typhoon Paeng.

The wave speakers for this year were Dr. Reinabelle “Reina” Reyes on the topic “Industrialization and Technology Revolution”; Antonio “Tonio” Flores on the topic “Enabling Social Entrepreneurship”; and Antoinette Taus on the topic “Driving Action on Climate Change”.

Moreover, the WAVE Talk was also hosted by GNIP Youth Ambassador Robi Domingo with a special performance from the 1st.ONE, a 6-member Filipino boy group under FirstOne Entertainment, Grand Winner on Seoul Music Awards PH Dance To Your Seoul. One of their performances in the WAVE Talk is their debut song, “You Are The One (Ttak Maja Nuh)“.

In addition to this, GNIP also held the Online WAVE TALK this December 2022 streamed on Facebook and Youtube. The talks were streamed in three episodes featuring the talks of Dr. Reyes, Flores, and Taus. This can be accessed on the organization’s Facebook Page and Youtube Channel.
